Holocaust Studies Plan

Our Holocaust Studies Plan has been designed to help teachers navigate the extensive resources available to promote understanding of the Holocaust and its impact on the world.  It has been prepared by 2GNJ, an organization of professionals, many of whom are experienced educators at all levels of instruction (K-12).

Teaching about the Holocaust is a law in New Jersey (N.J.S.A. 18A:35-28). It is in addition to several new statutes addressing cultural issues and other historical events that are required to be taught in classrooms.  One of our goals is to provide sample, age-appropriate lesson plans for K-4, 5-8 and 9-12 and books, videos, individual and group activities, and a list of resources for both teachers and students to provide easy access to information. about the Holocaust. The books presented in this document are on the list provided by the New Jersey Holocaust Commission.

We also offer speakers who are Children of Holocaust Survivors, who can come to your school or organization and relate meaningful family history and stories, a Q and A, as well as activities.

As a result of increasing Holocaust awareness, we hope there will be a better understanding of how acceptance of all people, kindness and tolerance will lead to a better world without hatred, prejudice, and racism .
